business tips starting an online business virtual assistant resources
While there are several social media options for content marketing, wonder what place would be perfect for your virtual assistant business?

You may be using Instagram & Facebook for your content marketing all the time, but let me tell you that you’re missing out if you haven’t started on these 3 platforms that no one talks about.

Don’t underestimate the power of these platforms.

Developing a marketing strategy for any of these 3 platforms will help you grow your network the right way and strategically grow your business.

But how do you do it?

Before diving in, read the previous blog post in this series, Content Marketing For Your VA Business. It will help you understand what is content marketing and why you need it for your business.

Without further ado, let’s talk about how you can kickstart your content marketing by utilizing these powerful platforms.

Pinterest

With 433 million people on Pinterest, why wouldn’t you want to be on the platform for your VA business content marketing? 83% of users have purchased from the content they’ve seen on Pinterest. So leverage the power of Pinterest as a marketing tactic to improve your brand awareness and generate leads.

Distribute your content

Target Pinterest users by sharing content on Pinterest boards that’s too irresistible to pass up. You can have unlimited boards and classify them into themes or categories to make it easy for the audience to find what they’re looking for. These boards will save all your Pins and distribute content for your audience to explore.

Pinterest is like a visual search engine which means that because Pinners are actively searching with intent to find an answer to their question, a product, or even a service, they are more likely to click through to view your content!

It is similar to Instagram Reels but slightly different.

Educate customers

Idea Pins are a newer format to Pinterest.

Their main goal is to be educational or inspirational.

It’s a slightly different angle than Reels or TikTok.

Create valuable content for your ideal clients in the form of tutorials, infographics, how-tos, and links to educational blog content from your website.

Drive website traffic and boost online sales

You can easily create Idea Pins around blog posts & direct viewers to your website for more, or your Pinterest Profile.

You can also create regular pins that link to a blog post on your website or just simply to your contact page on your website for a potential client to get in touch with!

In your VA business, putting all of this effort and time into implementing Pinterest marketing strategies is worth it.

Because Pinterest is one of the most versatile, affordable, purchase-intentional, and impactful marketing tools for virtual assistant businesses.

Convert more leads, drive traffic to your website, and increase brand awareness to grow your business!

TikTok

As a disclaimer, I have to be honest and say that I do not use TikTok in my business.

However, you may find your ideal clients hanging out here looking for business inspiration! (especially the online entrepreneur types who are looking to bootstrap and get their business off the ground with a fully remote team.)

TikTok is the simplest way to create video content.

Create short, punchy videos that show off your expertise as a Virtual Assistant and really drive the concept home so that you can save business owners’ time and money when they hire you.

Show how you can help them grow.

The sky is the limit here.

TikTok marketing is quite different from Instagram or Facebook marketing.

Before you start creating content, learn about the TikTok demographics, and identify your target audience/ ideal clients.

Next, research what types of content they might like and engage with.

Then start to brainstorm content ideas for your business.

TikTok is a completely different social network with unique trends, features, and user behaviors.

Be sure to use the features within TikTok such as trending audio and hashtags.

Do your best to create your content within the platform using their tools.

Don’t forget to jump in with the content trends and adjust your perspective accordingly.

Understand how TikTok ranks and displays videos in the For You tab.

Learn about the TikTok algorithm, too.

It will help you tweak your content, hashtag, and engagement strategy for the best results.

TikTok has the best ROI.

It’s a great content marketing strategy to create a lasting impression with your audience/clients because it allows them to see a different side of you. And allows you to have a platform that provides deep engagement.

Analytics is an easy way to gauge whether or not your strategies are working.

Track your analytics regularly and see if you’re reaching your goals.

Remember, making a content calendar and sticking to it is key here.

But don’t forget to be creative, have fun, and go with the flow!

LinkedIn

LinkedIn is the place that will help you make the big bucks in your VA business. It is not just a platform for employers and people searching for jobs, it’s so much more!

It has 310 million monthly active users and out of these, only 3 million users share content on LinkedIn every week. This means, that only 1% of active users share content on LinkedIn weekly.

So if you leverage LinkedIn the right way, you can and will stand out quickly as a trustworthy and credible brand and attract dream-like opportunities.

Furthermore, out of the 310 million monthly active users, 90 million are senior-level influencers and about 63 million are in decision-making positions. As a service provider, this is an excellent opportunity for you to network, generate leads, and attract new clients inside your niche!

It’s an extremely valuable platform for connecting with like-minded people and finding amazing collaboration opportunities, building brand awareness, and capturing high-quality leads.

Additionally, many are accustomed to using the LinkedIn messaging feature to arrange interviews.

LinkedIn allows you a place to publish content, showcase your portfolio, and you can share links periodically to your calendar page or make a simple Canva landing page to book discovery calls.

Salesy content, Spam, and promotions don’t work well on LinkedIn whatsoever.

To generate organic leads educational and high-value content works wonderfully.
