3 Big Reasons The Holidays Can Make Or Break Your Virtual Assistant Business
For me and my personal experience as a Virtual Assistant, the holidays have not been the time to completely slow down and check out of my business - it has been THE season to launch my business to new levels!
It is the time to gear up – because it is the season of embarking on holidays one after the other!
Even though Halloween, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and some more holidays are behind us the heart of the holiday season is still on its way.
Pushing up sales in this season is an opportunity once a year which in turn is an opportunity for you to level up your virtual assistant business.
In this post, I want to share with you 3 main reasons that the holidays can make or break your virtual assistant business.
NOW is the time to plan how you can take full advantage of solidifying your reputation and sign more clients to start off the new year reaching new levels of income and freedom as a virtual assistant.
Without further ado let’s get into it!
The Holidays Are Like The Superbowl Of Business Because More People Are In ‘Buy’ Mode
It is time to bring out your abundance mindset
Even amidst inflation and times when is said most people have lower discretionary spending capability, this season puts everyone into ‘buy’ mode, even your current clients.
Deals abound and your clients are going to need support from you as their virtual assistant to pull it off with a bang. Help them make it happen by showing up for them and playing the last quarter of the year like a Superbowl star.

More Opportunities to Expand Your Skills and Portfolio
Accommodate any potential additional needs
As mentioned above, an increased need to go all out with online marketing for small/big businesses leads to an increased opportunity for you in your virtual assistant business. Your clients or prospects may decide to hand off additional tasks to you that will expand your skill set. You don’t have to take this on, but this very well may be a big mistake in the long run!
A few months of grind will catapult you to the next level

So don’t shy away from hard work now to enjoy the fruits of your labor later!
Create a game plan for reaching out to current clients
Don’t leave it to them to let you know that they need extra support. The time is NOW to reach out.
Let them know your availability and respectfully, any areas you see where you could help them to be more successful and enjoy the season to the fullest. Pitch ideas that will boost their revenue. Offer to do it for them to save their time so they can enjoy the holidays with their families while you grow their business!
Help them level up while leveling-up yourself. Win-win for the holidays.
Your Project/Time Management Skills Will Be Put to The Test!
Will this season make or break you?
Your systems and processes for onboarding clients, handling their work, and still living life on your own terms as your own boss will surely tell!
Taking on more work, landing more clients, and leveling up sure sounds exciting. But it is easier said than done. Be prepared for hard work but be smart about it. Be focused, and avoid anything that will distract you from your goals. The goal should be to level up on your terms while working around your lifestyle and without burning out!
I have been reading a book called “Deep Work” by Cal Newport and despite being a VA who is always on the go and still working on optimizing my business and integrating it with my life, I found so much value in the perspective that this book brings. Subscribe to The Next Level VA Newsletter for more insights into business or personal development books I am reading to keep growing to the next level in life and business!
Self-discipline and time management are the key
Now is the time to sit down and study time management; hone in your discipline and set boundaries around your time to eliminate anything that is not contributing to your goals. Whether your goals are to increase your revenue or get better at time management so you can do more sightseeing abroad or work on fitness goals, you get to decide how you show up.
But remember that it is only you that can stand in the way of your success. Little actions and habits can cause life-changing consequences. So take this as a reminder to build good habits and develop the right skills for abundant success. The sky is the limit. Go for it.
There you have it!
Remember, don’t get overwhelmed when it comes to leveling up in your business as a virtual assistant.
A simple conversation coupled together with a plan can have you reaching new heights that will carry you into the new year!
One final pro tip
Gather reviews from clients that you have been working with this year so that you can turn those into content and share them with any leads that come your way.
